London, UK – 5 December 2016
RTX, the global voice and SMS exchange today announce Miles Esfahani will step up to the role of CEO as Albert Mackey moves into the role of Chairman.
Mackey has over 30 years’ experience in the telecoms industry being the holder of the first simple resale license in the UK. Since then he has built and sold a number of successful telecoms businesses including United Telecom, First National and Interoute. During his 4 years as CEO RTX was recognised as the 11th fastest growing company in the Sunday Times Tech Track 100. As Chairman he will lead RTX investment raise in 2017 and eventual goal of an IPO.
"The last 4 years has seen tremendous growth in the RTX business. Revenues have grown exponentially year on year gaining global recognition with the Sunday Time Tech Track 100 and Deloitte UK Fast 50 Tech awards. In order to continue RTX’s growth trajectory for 2017 I need to focus on our investment raising and ultimate IPO plan. By taking up the role as Chairman I can ensure these plans come to fruition.” Albert Mackey, Chairman.
Esfahani, as CEO, will build upon his work as Managing Director where he oversaw RTX growth becoming the leading global exchange for voice and SMS. He began his RTX career heading up the Partner Program growing the division gaining valuable insights into the ever changing dynamics of the wholesale voice market. 2017 is expected to be a huge year in the progress of RTX and this reorganisation will align the management team to fully maximise the opportunity and meet the challenges heads on
“I am delighted to be able to continue my work towards the growth of RTX in my new role as CEO. Having experienced the growth of the company initially within the Partner Program division, RTX’s partner branded switching platforms to global operators I was able to fully appreciate RTX unique selling points and the challenges it faced. Then latterly as MD I was able put this knowledge into effect enabling the growth of RTX. As we move into 2017 the challenge facing RTX will require me to further utilise this insight to focus the company on its core strengths as well as plan out our development road map both for our own exchange as well as for our partner platforms.” Miles Esfahani, CEO
